Knoxville, Tenn. – Blue Slip Winery and CFC Strategies presents the second edition of Knoxville’s first Food Truck Park, a part of the Southern Station Live concert series on Thursday, May 21st, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. The monthly Food Truck Park will continue to be a free admission, family-friendly event every Third Thursday of each month at the Historic Southern Railway Station, located at 306 West Depot Avenue, Knoxville, TN.
“We were ecstatic with the reception we got from the first park in early April,” said Linn Slocum, President of Blue Slip Winery. “Despite the weather, hundreds came to enjoy good food and the setting the station the provides. We think that we have created something pretty special and hope it will continue to grow in popularity.”
Southern Station Live’s central focus is to establish a similar atmosphere that promotes small, independent businesses and local singer/songwriters within the community. The first business to sponsor the series, Raven Records, will sell vinyl records and 90.3 The Rock WUTK-FM, also a sponsor, will be on hand with a booth with giveaways and prizes.
Food trucks to be in attendance include Breezy Weenie, Forks on the Road, Gonzo Gourmet, Hawg Dawg’s, Holy Smokin BBQ, The Lunch Box, Poutine Mobile, Retro Taco, Savory & Sweet, Tootsie Truck, and more to be added. In addition, Blue Slip wine will be available for purchase, with tours of the Historic Southern Railway Station trains, and music from local singer/songwriter Mike Snodgrass. The public is invited to bring lawn chairs and blankets to relax and enjoy the atmosphere the park provides.
“This is just another opportunity to combine two great things about Knoxville, food and talented, original artists that live right here in the city,” said CFC Strategies’ Clay Crownover. “We want to create something that really celebrates the local music scene, and help to promote the artists long after they have played the station.”
